Press Releases

We all have to take more responsibility for our actions, and improve the way we do things to make our lives more sustainable: in other words we need to make sure that we make the very best use of the planet's natural resources.

Recycling aluminium is one of the easiest and most important things we can do to help the environment, because of the massive energy savings made when we recycle, and because we want the metal to go on and on being made into new cans, as well as other items such as engine components, car bodies and window frames.

It is also important to make sure we do not cause litter by dropping our cans anywhere but in the recycling bank!

Our rubbish, and how we choose to handle it, affects the environment. That’s YOUR environment: Locally, nationally and globally. Everything that surrounds you including the air, water, land, plants, and man-made things.

Recycling is one way in which we can all make a contribution towards a more sustainable lifestyle.

There's a lot to learn about recycling, and we're here to help:
Classroom materials for teachers and pupils are available at click through to 'think cans in the classroom'.

Log on directly to, this information - produced by can recycling company Novelis, will be useful to both teachers and students here in Ireland, as it is educational and informative, providing many useful ideas for the classroom, like 'what is magnetism', and how to make a compass.
